The Northern Highlands Regional High School use their 24’ planetarium dome in a variety of ways.
- Fulldome video playback – Seiler simplified this task with a tactile user-friendly button box. Anyone can browse, playback, and control any video content on the system. Audiences expect a cinema-quality image when viewing cinema-like content. The 2x4K projection system delivers a picture so bright and crisp, you really have to see it.
- Streaming fulldome video – The Seiler button controller opens browser shortcuts to the dome and populates with playback controls. No more navigating the internet before your audiences.
- Traditional, live “feet-on-the-ground” astronomy shows are based in Stellarium. The buttons are used for object, camera, and time controls.
- New-School, live tours of the Universe are conducted in OpenSpace.
All of this content is warped to the dome at the GPU; the control system sees the dome as an extended monitor.
NHRHS’s 24ft dome shines brighter than ever with a SEILER PLANETARIUM 2x4K Projector System, delivering over 11 megapixels of jaw-dropping clarity and 24,000 lumens of brightness. With their state-of-the-art Seiler control system, this brand-new 59-year-old planetarium will continue to be a STEM-learning hub and community treasure for years to come.
